Project Overview

Location: Montgomery (Montgomery County)

The proposed project will improve the intersection of the Northern Boulevard (AL-152) and Jackson Ferry Road in Montgomery, Alabama. The proposed work will include replacing the existing bituminous pavement with ready-mix concrete pavement. No right-of-way is anticipated for the proposed project.
During construction, traffic control measures will be implemented in phased sequences. The first phase will include placing applicable advanced warning and standard signs.
Phase two includes eliminating all access to and from Jackson Ferry onto SR-152 (Northern Boulevard) and closing the existing median at this intersection. Traffic flowing along SR-152 (Northern Boulevard) will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
During Phase three, the median will remain closed. Traffic flowing along SR-152 (Northern Boulevard) will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Traffic flowing from Jackson Ferry onto SR-152 (Northern Boulevard) will be able to make a right turn onto SR-152. Eastbound traffic on SR-152 will be able to make a right turn onto Jackson Ferry (southbound). Westbound traffic on SR-152 will be able to make a right turn on Jackson Ferry (northbound). No left turns are permitted at this intersection during Phase three.
A signed detour will be utilized during both Phase two and Phase three of the traffic control sequence.
The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.
