What is the
Alabama Statewide Bicycle & Pedestrian plan?

The Alabama Statewide Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan was developed to improve processes and practices for local and regional bicycle and pedestrian planning, improve bicycle and pedestrian planning and design on ALDOT-maintained roadways, and minimize impacts of ALDOT roadway projects on non-motorized transportation.

The plan helps establish a vision for bicycling and walking as modes of transportation in Alabama and helps guide investment in bicycle and pedestrian facilities that maximize limited available funding.
