Online Public Involvement: Reconstruct and Add Lanes on I-59 in Trussville

Project Overview

Location: Trussville (Jefferson County)

The proposed project is located on I-59 in Trussville from the interchange with I-459 interchange to Chalkville Mountain Road(CR-10). The project will reconstruct the existing roadway and add an additional lane in both directions towards the median. Construction will be staged with varying lane closures. More information on construction schedule and roadway closures can be found in the presentation.

The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.

ALDOT is conducting online public involvement for the proposed project. All comments regarding this project must be submitted on or before April 8, 2022.

IN PERSON MEETING INFO

State of Alabama Department of Transportation will hold a Public Involvement Meeting for the proposed project on I-59 in Trussville. This informal meeting will be held as follows:
Thursday, March 24, 2022
4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Trussville Civic Center

Trussville, Alabama 35173

This will be an Open-House meeting without any formal presentations. Project information, including maps and comment forms, will be available for review. Representatives from the Alabama Department of Transportation, will be available to answer questions.

NOTE: COVID-19 Guidelines, as recommended by Governor Ivey and State Health Officer, will be followed

REQUEST FOR SPECIAL ASSISTANCE SHOULD BE RECEIVED AT LEAST FIVE (5) BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO THE MEETING.
